The City of Makkah
Makkah, the city of blessing, is the site of Allah's House, the Ka'bah. It is the most beloved land in the eyes of Allah. It was at this city that Muhammad (PBUH), the last prophet and leader of all humanity, entered the world. The Kaaba, Islam's holiest site, may be found in Mecca. The Kaaba in Mecca marks the Qiblah, the direction toward which Muslims face when praying. A well in Mecca called Zamzam contains the holiest water in Islam. The annual Umrah and Hajj pilgrimages to Mecca are attended by millions of Muslims worldwide. The Anti-christ (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal) will be unable to reach Mecca or Madinah since they are the only two cities in the world guarded by rows of angels.Makkah is referred to by Allah in the Quran by no less than five different names: Makkah, Bakkah, Al-Balad, Al-Qaryah, and Ummul-Qura.Allah makes a proclamation in the book of the Quran called Surah Al-Imran.
“The first House [of worship] to be established for people was the one at Bakkah (Makkah). It is a blessed place; a source of guidance for All people.” [3:96].
So the fundamental goal of al-Musafir is to reinforce believer's trust in Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) by introducing them to these holy sites and detailing their rich histories.
