Daarul Arqam

Daarul Arqam (The house of Arqam)
That spot is supposedly where Arqam's (RA) home formerly stood. In close proximity to Mount Safa's entrance. One of Islam's first converts was named Arqam ibn Abi Arqam. Arqam's house was chosen as a meeting place because it was conveniently accessible from the house of Khadija (RA), where the Prophet (peace be upon him) dwelt, and because it was hidden from view by the pagans and chieftains around the Ka'bah. Dar Al Arqam was the place where the early followers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would gather in secrecy for worship and religious study. Umar (RA) converted to Islam in this city, and a verse from the Qur'an promising that Allah is on their side and that He will strengthen the religion with leaders like Umar (RA), Hamza (RA), and the other companions was also revealed here.
