Rukan e Yamani

Rukan Yamani (The Yamani Corner)
The Yamani Corner, or Rukan Yamani, is situated in the southwest corner of the Holy Ka'bah. It is also known as Rukn-al-Janubi. Located near the opposite end of the southern wall, it is symmetrical with Hajr-e-Aswad (the Black Stone). Since the corner faces the territory of Yemen, it was given the name Rukan Yamani.Rukan Yamani, also known as Rukn-al-Janubi and the Yemeni Corner, is located in the south-western corner of the Holy Ka’bah.Rukan Yamani, like Hajr-e-Aswad, can purify people of their sins according to a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The practise of touching the corner and asking for forgiveness during Tawaf has since become a Sunnah. In Islamic history, Rukan Yamani is a major figure. Tens of thousands of Muslims visit the Holy Ka'bah each year in the hopes of fulfilling the Sunnah of Istilam by praying in the direction of Rukan Yamani. Regarding the privilege of touching Rukan Yamani and the blessings it brought, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Touching of the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner indeed erases sins.” (Musnad Ahmad from Ibn’ Umar)
