Hateem

Hateem (Hijr Ismail)
A crescent-shaped space next to the Ka'bah is called the Hateem. Since this is where Ebrahim (A.S ) built a shelter for Ismail (A.S ) and his mother Hajrah (A.S ), this section is often referred to as the "Hijr Ismail." Abdul Muttalib, the Prophet's (PBUH) grandfather, enjoyed spending time in the vicinity of the Ka'bah so much that he would occasionally have a couch brought there for his use.Hazrat Aisha (R.A) claims that the Prophet (PBUH ) confirmed that the Hateem was an integral element of the Ka'bah in response to her inquiry.Hazrat
Aisha (رضي الله عنها) says, “When I expressed the wish to perform salah within the Ka’bah, the Prophet (ﷺ) took me by the hand and led me into the Hijr (Hateem) where he said, ‘Perform salah here if you wish to enter the Ka’bah because this is part of the Baytullah.’”
